In this episode of Principled, Ryan Glover talks about how he and his team reduced ‘tech debt,’ by creating common templates, taxonomy, and nomenclature to drive stickiness and adoption.
“It’s super important in the security space to help facilitate fast and well-informed decisions. We don’t want to over-simplify things, but we want to make sure it’s simple enough and then expose complexity more responsibly,” says Cisco Secure UI/UX Engineering Leader Ryan Glover.
In this episode, Ryan shares how the Cisco Secure Endpoint team is redesigning the product interface and taxonomy to provide users with the right balance of simplicity and sophistication. “We’re always asking ourselves these questions: Is the experience as simple as it can possibly be? Have we removed complexity? Have we removed too much complexity? Are users still able to protect their systems? At the end of the day, what it’s all about is making sure it’s easy, and intuitive and that you’re protected.”
